Nonniin, matka on vihdoin alkanut. Tällä hetkellä tosin ollaan välietapilla Lontoon Heathrown nurkilla Crowne Plaza -hotellissa. Luulis että neljän tähden hotellissa ois ilmanen aamupala tai ees netti mutta näiltä rotilta ei sellasia liikene. Kaikki maksaa niin paljon, että tämän tekstin julkaisu saa odottaa huomiseen saakka; sivistysvaltio Yhdysvallat on sentään täynnä ilmasia langattomia nettejä.
Matka on sujunut päällisin puolin ihan sujuvasti, tosin pieniä kompasteluita on jo sattunut. Ei kuitenkaan meidän toimestamme. Ensin Helsinki-Vantaalla kesti yllättävän kauan saada kamat koneeseen vaikka check-in oli hoidettu jo etukäteen. Ensin tavaroita oltiin laittamassa matkalle Vancouveriin, mutta onneksi virkailija kysyi vielä varmistaakseen, mikä olikaan lopullinen päämäärämme. Me pysähdymme Lontoossa yöpymässä, matkatavarat kuitenkin matkustavat enemmän tai vähemmän sujuvasti suoraan Newarkiin, joka kieltämättä epäilyttää allekirjoittaneita. Ei välttämättä yllätä, jos ei kamat tuu ihan ajoissa Ameriikkaan.
Heathrow:n päässä venailtiin bussia hotellille ikuisuus, mutta nyt tosiaan vihdoin olemme täällä. Hotelli on kyllä todella jees sitä alituista veren imemistä lukuun ottamatta. Jugin luuri ei toimi ainakaan täällä Lontoossa, toivotaan parempaa tuuria Amerikan päässä. Miikan puhelin jostain syystä toimii, vaikka on sama liittymä ja kaikki. Eipä tässä kuitenkaan muita ihmeempiä juttuja, huomenna saavumme puolen päivän aikaan maailman napaan, joka tunnetaan nimellä Chilltown, New York. Tai ainakin joskus tunnettiin. Majapaikkana Flatbush, Brooklyn. Niin, ja 4.7. on siis Amerikan Yhdysvaltojen itsenäisyyspäivä, eli ilotulitteita odotetettavissa.

Finally, the road trip of a lifetime is here. The long wait is over and we're finally on our way towards the land of the free. Right now residing near Heathrow Airport in the UK, we're enthusiastically waiting for tomorrow to come. At noon we'll be arriving at Newark from which we'll head for Flatbush, Brooklyn, where a good friend of Jugi's is offering us lodging. 4th of July in New York City, hmm I believe there may be worse ways to spend a 4th of July. We'll get to see fireworks like never before!
The journey towards the journey has been fairly smooth this far, although not without its hindrances. After some confusion at Helsinki-Vantaa airport, we got our luggage on their way towards Newark. They didn't accompany us to the hotel, but instead stayed at the airport or flew straight to Newark, I wouldn't know. We have our doubts though, would not be surprising to not find them at Newark at the time of our arrival. Ahh well, it'll all end up well anyway.
It took us a moment to find our way to the hotel due to a slow shuttle service, but we finally made it. Jugi's cell isn't functioning at the moment, and the Internet charge at the hotel is outrageous so there's no way for Jugi to be in connection to the outside world. Miika's cell for some reason works like dandy. But, in Large Professor's words: this is only the beginning. There's more to come and I bet it'll be a bit more interesting than an evening in Crowne Plaza hotel.
